Would Dilaudid Be The Cause Of The Positive Test For Morphine?
I was urine tested to see if I was taking my meds correctly and this month, was told I had morhine in my system from the last (first) test. I was at the hospital foas my S.I. joint had locked up on me and was causing m,e extreme pain. In the ER, they gave me two separate iv shots of dilaudid. I was wondering how long this chemical stays in my system and would this be the cause of the positive test for morphine? I was at the ER on May 4th and had my injections for my s.I. joints at my doctors office on the 18th of May. Would this have given me a positive result for morphine as i take nothing but what the doctor gives me, I take Fentanyl patch 50 mcg, and tylenol #4 twice daily.
dilaudid is an opioid analgesic. It is a very potent centrally acting analgesic drug of the opioid class. It is a derivative of morphine; to be specific, it is a hydrogenated ketone thereof. Comparatively, hydromorphone is to morphine as hydrocodone is to codeine—that is, a semi-synthetic drug. In medical terms, it is an opioid analgesic and, in legal terms, a narcotic. so its no surprise that you tested positive for morphine.. hope that helps
