Would A Change Of Brand Of Atenolol Cause Anxiety Symptoms?

I am taking atenolol, 25 mg., I just reordered my script, the pills are bigger, and I start feeling anxiety for the first 15 minutes after I take it. I didn t feel that before with the other pill. Ive been taking this for over 3 years. This is the first time this has happened. Would the change of brand do that?

Hi!A change of brand is not expected to cause new side effects.Having said that
let me add that anxiety is,in fact, one of the side effects of atenolol use. I'm presuming here that you've checked that your prescription refill was indeed Atenolol 25 mg and not more ( you mentioned 'the pills are bigger').I'd suggest you continue taking the new pills - it is possible that after a few more days of use this new side effect tapers of. In case it doesn't or if it worsens you'll need to contact the pharmacy and make them aware of this peculiarity. All the best!
