Hi,

Tetanus is a serious disease that caused by the bacterium Clostridium tetani. The Tetanus shot helps protect against tetanus. The vaccine that your husband get for tetanus can also contain components to prevent contracting certain other serious bacterial diseases like diphtheria and pertussis or whooping cough.

Side effects of Tetanus shot are pain, redness, swelling, itching, hives or rash near or at the injection site, fever, headache, body aches, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea, sore joints, muscle spasms, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, weakness, breathing difficulties, breast tenderness and enlargement, swelling of lips, face or throat etc. Most of these side effects will disappear over the time. If they persist for long or bother your husband, your husband should consult his doctor immediately.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
