Would Two 20mg Capsules Be The Same As 40 Mg Capsules?
Vyvanse Extended Release - Do two 20mg capsules = one 40mg casules? Vyvanse is extended release. My daughter is on 30 mg capsules. She takes one a day. We want to try her at 40 mg capsules, but they don t come in that dosage. Can I give her two 20 mg capsules per day in the morning? I would be giving her two extended release 20 mg capsules, and I don t know if that is safe. Would two 20mg capsules be the same as 40 mg capsules? My worry is that I assume a 40mg capsule would release at a different pace throughout the day than two 20mg capsules would. My daughter is nine years old and has Adhd . She is about 4 feet 4 inches and weighs 5 pounds.
Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Kindly do not try to make such mistake now and in future also. Give her Vyvanse exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not give in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the instructions as given in the prescription label. It is a drug of abuse and may be habit forming. Keep track of the amount of medicine you give her. Using this medication improperly can cause death or serious side effects on the heart. So kindly do not try to experiment with the dose and give it as prescribed by your Doctor and take her for regular follow up.
Good Luck and Take Care.
