X-ray Of Ankle Required After Hitting And Bruising?

I hit my ankle bone trying to jump out of a canoe and it hurt at the time and was bruised. I can walk on it perfectly fine but when I touch my ankle it is in pain. It s been more than a week since it happen. Should I go see my doctor and get an x ray?

If pain persists better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an X-ray to rule out fracture even though it is unlikely in this case.
