X-ray Showed Broken Thumb At The Base Of Distal Joint, Not Healed After 2 Months. Suggested Avulsion Fracture. Surgery Needed?
Hello my name is Carolyn how are you. I fell over at work 3 months ago and broke my thumb at the base of the distal joint I had a xray 7 weeks ago to confirm, and had a follow up xray yesterday and the break has not healed at all the tendon is attached to the broken off peice of bone, avulsion fracture I think they call this, I guess it has already been three months and the pain is still there, do you think I will require surgery wire to fix the problem. Thanks for your help Carolyn
As you mentioned that the pain is persistent since 3 months and the Xray also has shown there is avulsion fracture surely you need to undergo surgical correction of the problem or else the pain will remain persistently
with best wishes
