Yeast Infection In The Vagina. Peeling Of The Vulva. Need Moisturizing?

Hi. I recently had a yeast infection (one that affected my vulva as well as my vagina) and after undergoing over-the-counter treatment, I have noticed that my vulva is peeling. It looks like little pieces of toilet paper have gotten stuck down there, but it isn't-it's my skin sloughing off. What should I do? Moisturize?

You need to consult your gynaecologist at the earliest. This may be due to the fungal infection which probably needs oral and local antifungals. It may also occur if there is secondary bacterial infection over the fungal infection in which case your doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with the antifungals. You actually need to keep the area dry,not moist.Frequent change of undergarments ,use of cotton panties which should be changed whenever they get wet/moist,antifungal dusting powder/talc may also help.
