Yellowish And Irregular Texture Of 1 Fingernail,thicker And Curved In 10 Month Old Baby
My 10 weeks old daughter has 1 fingernail which is yellowish and of irregular texture. It seem to be thicker and curved. This started when she was 5 weeks old. It started with the nail turning dark red near the cuticle and slowly becoming yellowish. It did grow longer and we clip off slowly, hoping the new nails will grow normally, but noticed it also slowly turning yellow. What may be the problem?

the details of the nails you have stated is suggestive of the fungal infection of the nail known as onychomycosis. it is a common infection and diagnosed by a lab test by sending the nail crepings to lab for hype under KOH soln. it can be easilly treated with antifungal drugs
