Will A Bipolar Disorder Debar One From The Military?
will Bipolor disorder prevent me from joining the military. I have not been on medication in over two years. I have had no symptoms nor recieved any treatment in over two years as well. Would still a past diagnosis prevent me from joining. My friends and family have been seeing a lot of improvement too. I am a medical assistant and wish to gain more medical experince through the army/air force. I like that they can help with school and work. Any advice? Or will this just mess up those goals.
I donot think that the history of having bipolar disorder can debar you from joining military. This however depebds on rules laid down for admission to military in your state.
Bipolar disorder can cause disability if left untreated and unmedicated. But since you are having no symptoms currently, there should be no objection to join militart.
It would best if you can get a fitness certificate from your psychiatrist.
Thanks.
