Does The Hallux Valgus Cause Hip Bursitis? How Long It Takes For Bursitis To Subside?
I have had ongoing inflammation in the big toe joint, and was told it was hallux vulgas by a physio. Taping did help somewhat but accupuncture has got it 85% better. I am a exerciser who walks, box kicks and jogs in my week. Now I have presented with tight glutes, hip pain and lower back. All symptoms leading to bursitis in the hips. Accupuncture in the hips is helping and easing off high impact also. I am doing stretches daily. So, my questions Did the hallux vulgas cause the hips etc to not be happy? How long for bursitis to subside and am I doing recovery properly? What should I do to ease pain, and improve the situation?
Hi from the complaints you had described I would like give most probable reasond for the pain around the hip and also your great toe.
1. Firstly hallux valgus does not cause hip bursitis. 2. I would first like you to rule out cause for inflammation around the big toe as some time it could caused by raised serum uric acid (i.e Gout). I would suggest you to get your blood uric acid levels checked. 3. Some times in patients with raised uric acid you may get bursitis like symptoms around the hip joints. 4. If the condition of raised uric acid in your blood is ruled out it could be simple muscle pull or catch around the hip joint which could get reduced by simple anti inflammatory drugs and some stretches.
thanks and whish you a good health.
