Posted on Tue, 31 May 2016
Question: Hello,
My son was born on 13th March 2016 & we had a recent visit to a paediatrician who has advised the following:
Vitanova
Calcimax P
Along with the following vaccinations as optional
Rotavirus
Pneumococcal
My queries:
Is Calcimax and Vitanova safe and needs to be started? I mean is it mandatory?
Is it ok to skip the 2 optional vaccines? Any consequences?

Brief Answer:
Better to take those

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I understand your concern.

Vitanova and calcimax p are safe to take.

You can give if your doctor has prescribed it.
Though not mandatory, if prescribed after examination it is better to continue as per advice.

Rotavirus and pneumococcal diseases are the largest killer diseases in children in XXXXXXX More than 2 lakh deaths and 70 lakh hospitalisation every year in XXXXXXX
It is the best gift you can buy for your son rather than buying toys and fancy clothes.

Many people are not aware of the seriousness of these vaccines because government does not give it free because of the cost involved.

It is entirely upto you to give or skip the vaccines.
Wishing your child good health
Regards

Dr Arun
