Brief Answer:
Ultigest is safe for pregnant women.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Ultigest SR 200 is a drug called as progesterone. This is a hormone that is used therapeutically in females. The fact is that you are six weeks pregnant. Ultigest shows no signs of causing any problem with the fetus, in animal studies, nor in it's history of usage, has it caused any real issues with an unborn baby. At worst, you might have to put up with it's side effects. Just as you would have to bear the side effects of any other medication you might take. I can say with confidence that the side effects of Ultigest will not interfere with the pregnancy. There are drugs whose side effects interfere with pregnancy like methotrexate and oxytocin. Ultigest, for all practical purposes is quite safe, taken during pregnancy. You can feel confident about taking this drug, though you must take it under medical supervision, as it is a hormone. Kindly do not increase the dose, and take the drug at the right times as instructed. This is more than sufficient to be safe, and benefit from Ultigest's good effects.

Feel free to pose doubts or other health related issues.

Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
