Does Intake Of Imodium AD Help In Treating Anxiety?

Question: I am having a horrible panic attack and I am out of my anti anxiety meds, I am wondering if there are any OTC medications that might help or anything else you can recomend? Someone told me Imodium AD helps. please help!

Thanks for writing to us. i can understand your concern.

Imodium AD contains loperamide and is used for diarrhoea not in anxiety.

As such with severe anxiety no specific OTC can help. However tylenol and pentoprazole can give some relief. In some countries propranolol may be available as OTC, if you can get it. It is safe to take it after some meal and it is very good drug for anxiety.

With medicines you should take enough fluids. You can do deep breathing exercise. Take deep slow breathing. Inhale for 3 seconds, keep breath in for 3 seconds and exhale for 3 seconds. Do it for 10-15 minutes. You will feel relax.
