Question: What does it mean when your vagina is so dry it actually hurts when you walk or sit --It felt like there was sandpaper in it --This just came out of the blue and lasted a whole day. I am 71 years old and use Premarin cream once or twice a week when I remember to insert it --but have not used it for a few days.

Brief Answer:
Premarin cream advised regularly

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your problem and would like to tell you that it is a common problem.
Basically you need to be regular on your estrogen cream and may even require oral supplements for a while in case this happens more frequently otherwise symptoms can worsen.
For the time being insert the cream generously for 4 weeks (twice a week).
And visit your gynaecologist as and when possible in this month for general examination and evaluation which is must for menopausal patients every 6-9 months who are taking estrogen.
All the best.
Regards
Dr Manisha
