General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
With the history you have, you need to get endocrinal assay of menstrual hormones (like, ovarian hormones, pituitary hormones or thyroid function tests). This would help in finding exact cause and help in planning a treatment for you. Consult an endocrinologist as advised by your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
