Question : Hi doctor,

I am from XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Since couple of days i am having mouth ulcer. Unable to open mouth completely, feeling pain. Not able to take spicy food. Please let me know how to treat it.

I appreciate your concern

Based on the description and your history, Aphthous ulceration is the most likely diagnosis.

Vitamin B complex and FOLIC ACID supplementation would be required for treatment as it helps a quicker resolution. Local application of cetalkonium chloride and choline salicyltae for the pain and burning/irritation is useful. Maintain adequate oral hygiene to prevent any associated or superadded infection. Doxycycline or azithromycin can also be prescribed if the lesions are severe or recurrent. persist. Avoid Tobacco chewing and smoking. Hopefully , they will resolve in a week's duration.
