Question : My wife suffered a broken ankle about 3 months ago. In the healing process she experienced a lot of swelling and was diagnosed with blood clots in her leg. She has since been cleared and given a clean XXXXXXX of health. Now it is very sore to where she can't wear a compression sock and she has a "red rash" on her lower shin. I am concerned it is infected or blood clots have returned. Looking for advice or direction.

                                    Brief Answer:
Can be blood clot.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Pain or swelling or a reddish rash that has appeared can be due to a blood clot. She needs a direct examination again and color doppler scan to rule out the blood clot. infection is less likely after it has completely healed.
I hope this answers your query.
