                                            Question : Hi,
i have a son-he is 27 months old now. He does not speak much and all he says is aa,haha and that too sometimes.
He used to say dada, tata when he was an year old but then we shifted to London and had a nanny who didnt know how to speak english well. even i was away in office and the entire day he was with his nanny. Resulting this the child stopped speaking.
he does not have any elder sibling and there is not much social interaction with other kids.we got him evaluated by a speech therapist who said hearing, understanding etc were fine.
i am really worried,is there any technique to get him to speak ,pls help as this is a very trying time for us especially me as i am the mother.
thanks,
XXXX

                                    Brief Answer:
need to speak to him
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
Do not worry.
As you have already evaluated your child and his understanding and hearing is fine, speech will improve soon.
A child needs constant attention and someone has to keep speaking to him and tell stories or other .
Keep your child engaged. Do not allow him to be alone.
Avoid electronic gadgets like tv or mobile etc.
Books and visual learning toys would be best.
Talk in single language .
Once he talks well in one language then try other.
Hope this helps.
Wishing him good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
