Brief Answer:
Prolonged antibiotics.

Detailed Answer:
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!

Paraurethral glands or commonly referred to as Skene's glands are present in the anterior vaginal wall. This is homologous to the prostate gland in men and like the prostate can be inflamed and cause pain and discomfort.

Like the prostate it is treated with 4-6 weeks of antibiotics (drug of choice is Ciprofloxacin) because it has the highest antibiotic penetration to the tissue.

Brief Answer:
Pls see detailed answer.

Detailed Answer:
that is the usual location of the Paraurethral glands but it's really hard to say unless a physical examination can be done. If it is tender to touch and feels swollen then you may have an infected Paraurethral glands. I suggest for you to see your gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis and get a prescription for the antibiotics needed.

Would 3 months of doxycycline treat a XXXXXXX gland infection ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Manuel C See IV (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Depends on the organism.

Detailed Answer:
it would depend on the organism that is causing the infection. Doxycycline is used to treat fungal elements like chlamydia and doesn't have an effect on bacteria like E. coli that is the most common cause of prostatitis/Skene's gland infection. Ciprofloxacin is still the drug of choice since it has the greatest tissue infiltration.
