Is A Negative HIV Combo Test Result At 32 Days Post Exposure Conclusive?

Question: Hello doctor,
I had unprotected sex with unknown girl.
I was worried if i had HIV.
2 weeks later after exposure i performed AB/AG combo test with a negative result.
32 days after exposure i performed another combo test and the result was conclusive too.

Is it accurate? Can i remove the stress and move on?

Thanks for writing to us.

You have negative test after 30 days means there is almost no chance of HIV. Initial symptoms of HIV are fever, diarrhea and weight loss not responding to treatment. If you do not have any of this, you can move ahead without any stress. For final conclusion you can go for retesting at 6 months as theoretically maximum incubation period in 0.1% of cases is 6 months.
Even you can avoid retesting at 6 months if asymptotic.

2 weeks after exposure I had 2 days diarrhea and some rash on my chest without fever.
2 sore throats also.
Also 4 kilos weight loss
Is it from stress?
Is my 32 negative result consider conclusive?

Result after 32 days is 99.999% conclusive.

Weight loss is significant or not can be decided by loss of weight in %. Let me know exact weight before exposure and current weight.

One episode of diarrhea and 2 of sore throats do not suggest hiv.

My weight was 82 and then became 78 but now i gain it back.
One sore throats keeps coming and disappear by it self after 1-2weeks.

I think it was from stress and fear right?

Your weight loss is not significant. Self-remitting sore throat does not indicate any hiv symptom.

Many times due to fear of getting HIV person becomes stressful and weight loss occurs. You are gaining weight that is good.
