Brief Answer:
Flupenthixol and melitracen can be stopped

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query and understood your concerns.

For the treatment of anxiety disorder escitalopram alone is effective and tolerable. You are on escitalopram 5 mg for last 3 years, so you need to stop the flupenthixol and melitracen and increase the dose of escitalopram to 10 mg.

You must be visiting your prescribing psychiatrist, if not then meet him and ask for the change in the dosage.

In my patient I would have stopped flupenthuxol and melitracen and the dose of escitaopram would have increased to 10 mg. In follow up within 3 months I would have decreased escitalipram from 10 to 5 mg.

Flupenthixol and melitracen have been banned long before and now no one prescribes it.

Brief Answer:
Whole dose should be taken at night

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing again.

The prescribing guidelines for escitalopram is that it should be given in once a day dose. So, taking 10 mg at night would be advisable.

Cardiologists do not have knowledge of psychiatric drugs, that is why they prescribe irrelevantly.
