Suggest Remedies For A Big Red Itchy Rash On Left Leg

Question : My daughter is 22 months old. She has a huge reddish swelling on her left leg behind the knee after she came back after playing from the park in the evening. Usually she has reddish bumps and itching after mosquito bites which go away in 2- 3 days. But this bump is big and her lower leg appears swollen. She is constantly itching and not sleeping at night. I asked her paediatrician and he asked to apply Ritch cream on it. I am afraid that it should not develop into any other complication or problem. Please advise.

Itchy red eruption is most likely due to allergy to some pollens/plant product or some insect bite.
Most of the time these reactions are limited to skin and do not causes any complication.
Ritch cream is contains ingredients which decreases the itching and soothen the skin.
Application of ointment containing anti allergic with mild steroid along with oral anti allergic like hydroxyzine (atarax syrup) helps in rapid recovery.
Watch for any further progression of skin lesion,swelling of face or any urinary difficulty and if you notice any please consult your pediatrician.

You may apply the Ritch cream over the rash,as it is also soothens the skin.Also give her hydroxyzine or any other antillergic after consulting a physician for rapid recovery.
