Suggest Remedies For A Large Lump Under The Arm

Question: i have 1 larger lump under my arm about the size of a 5 cent coin, i have had it for 5 days. Recently i have grown another one that's really small. They both hurt when i touch them or move my arm up and down. They are hard and i cant move them around like my other swollen lymph node (behind my ear, already had it checked and its nothing.) So i don't think these are lymph nodes but again i'm not sure. Please help!
Sorry the lumps are in my armpit
Sorry the lumps are in my armpit
Brief Answer:
It seems to be a mild infection of the glands of your armpit.
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for the question.
Are the lumps red and are you having any fever?
You could send us a picture so we can better know.
Or you could get yourself examined by a Doctor.
It seems like a mild bacterial infection affecting your glands under the skin and therefore they don't move.
You will need a course of antibiotics like Tab Augmentin 625mg thrice a day for 5 to 7 days and local application of Clindamycin ointment.
This should be able to relieve in less than a weeks time.
Take care and do let me know if there are other queries on this issue.

they are a tiny ting of red, and no i'm not getting any fevers. I'm getting hot because i'm really worried and flustered though.
Do you think it's cancer?!?!
Do you think it's cancer?!?!
Brief Answer:
It is not cancer. Don't worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It definitely is not cancer.
Do not worry.
It is most likely an infection which would get relieved by antibiotics.
Have you shaved your armpits in the recent past?
Just follow the advice and you would be fine.
Take care and feel free to ask any questions.

what are signs to look for if it's cancer. what would i be feeling?
Brief Answer:
Cancer is painless.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Skin cancer would present with flat, painless, dark colored patches or if there was a mole in that area and if it increases in size or changes it's color or thickness then it could be cancer.
This cancer is almost always painless and it is usually not red.
Redness and pain suggest towards infection and inflammation. You need to keep the area absolutely clean.
Take care,
Dr Rishi

But what about lymphoma or leukemia. I read that swollen lymph nodes in the armpit could mean that.
Brief Answer:
You don't have enlarged lymph nodes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
That is absolutely true.
But what you have are not swollen lymph nodes but swollen sweat glands of the armpit. Its totally different. Cancerous lymph node enlargements are also painless as I told you in last answer.
Lymph nodes lie under the skin and subcutaneous tissue and are therefore XXXXXXX separately from the skin. Inflammation of sweat and sebaceous glands shows as red, painful lumps which are not XXXXXXX as they cannot be separated from the Skin since they are elements of the skin only.
I do not think there is any need to worry but if you are so concerned then you should get yourself examined by a Doctor.
Take care and all the best.

okay thanks for all the help and for getting back to me so fast. So how can i make these sore bumps in my armpit go away?
Brief Answer:
Start the treatment and continue for a week.
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Please refer to the first answer I gave. The treatment is mentioned there.
And please keep the area absolutely clean by washing with soap and water at least twice a day and dabbing it dry with a towel and then apply antibiotic ointment.
You can also apply hot water bottle to the area as it will give you relief.
Do not shave the area or irritate the sweat glands in any way.
Take care and get well soon.
If it does not get relieved in 4 to5 days please let me know.
Take care and stay healthy.

would it be better if i sent you a picture?
Brief Answer:
Please get examined.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
In that case it would be better to get yourself examined by a Doctor as it's always better to be sure. An e consultation like this is limited by the absence of ability to examine.
Therefore it would be prudent to get examined by a Doctor
Do let me know if I can help you any further.
Take care.
