Question: I had an ingrown hair on the inside of my upper thigh. I squeezed it out after it looked like it was infected.
Now there is a bump and an approx 3-4" in diameter red rash surrounding it.

Brief Answer:
It looks like infected sebaceous cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like a infected sebaceous cyst. Redness is due to associated inflammation.
This is the swelling which occurs in relation to the hair.
I prescribe Antibiotic like Clindamycin capsule 600mg thrice daily along with anti inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints. Once the redness is subsided I will excise the whole swelling under local anaesthesia.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult your Surgeon and proceed.
Wish you good health and speedy recovery.
If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Regards
