Question : Yes, I have what appears to be a mole of some sort on my face under my right ear.

Please do not use anything on it. As there is a kind of wound on it, this lesion should be removed and tested under a microscope. It might be a skin cancer. Moreover you probably injure it from time to time when shaving. This is also an indication to have it removed.
