Question : I am getting over shingles, I have took all medicine Dr. prescribed me 2 days after and I am waking p with pain inside me . Like my nerves or muscles are all on tight ruberband pulling tight it hurts bad enough to make me cry. I don't like taking pain medicine. It hurts that bad. Is this normal???

Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
Shingles is very commonly associated with pain and unpleasant sensation over the involved area. Infact the pain may persist for long even after resolution of the rash.
In such patients who come with vesicles , I prefer to advise oral antivirals like Acyclovir / Valacyclovir with anti inflammatory drugs like Diclofenac. Later drugs like Gabapentine/ Carbamazepine/ pregabelin are started according to the necessity.
