Answered by Dr. Sumit Bhatti (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Mucaine Gel, PPI, Pro kinetic, diet & lifestyle changes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Mucaine Gel 1 tbsp thrice a day x 1 week, a Proton Pump Inhibitor (such as rabeprazole, pantoprazole, omeprazole), a pro kinetic (such as levosulpiride, cinitapride) for 2 weeks is normally successful in relieving such symptoms.

2. Diet and lifestyle changes are equally important. In severe cases medication may continue for 8 to 12 weeks.

3. If there is no relief, conditions such as a sliding hernia, h.pylori infection should be ruled out.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
