Question : I suffer from panic attacks. Could a very high blood pressure for thirty minutes or so with a normal pulse rate cause you to have a stroke right then and there? I'm worried about blood pressure being in the range of what I had for a few minutes during an attack the other night, 154/107, causing a stroke sometime in the future. Normal readings for me are 120/80 if not below. Basically, could I have a stroke during a panic attack while my blood pressure is elevated from the attack? 31yr old female.
Brief Answer:
No chance to get stroke with elevated blood pressu
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your worries regarding association of increased blood pressure (bp) with stroke.
In your case, there is no chance to get stroke during an increased bp up to 154/107.
It is perfectly normal to get elevated bp levels when being in panic. You can't have stroke during the panic attack while having elevated bp from the attack.
All the best!
