Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Being a parent myself I understand your concern and apprehension. Fever is not a disease but is symptom of underlying disease. Non specific viral infection is the commonest cause for fever. Is is usually self limiting and requires symptomatic treatment.

If the following criteria are fulfilled there is no cause for concern

1. Absence of rash over body

2. Appetite normal

3. Normal Urine report

4. Breathing quite and normal

5. Absence of loose stools

I would suggest you to consult your child Pediatrician for thorough clinical examination and assessment. In the meantime I would suggest you the following

1. Syrup Ibuprofen will help reduce fever

2. Sponging the body: : 15 to 20 minutes after giving antipyretic like Paracetamol or Ibuprofen sponge the whole body with Normal tap water

Also kindly provide me the following additional information

1. Apart from fever does the baby have any other symptoms?

2. What is the age of son ?

3. Is the appetite normal ?

4. Are there any respiratory symptoms like running nose , cough ?

5. Is there associated vomiting?

Awaiting your response

Take care

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mr XXXXXXX

As the temperature is high also as the fever is being present for quite long time, I would suggest you the following

1. Thorough clinical examination from Pediatrician

2. Investigation : Complete blood count , Peripheral smear and WIDAL test. Normal reports will be reassuring and the cause is likely to be non specific viral infection.

3. Ibuprofen syrup will take care of fever

Do keep me updated

Wishing your son speedy recovery

Take care
