Question : Hi Dr.,
I am a little concerned with a red spotty rash that has developed on the top of the head of my penis. It has been there for 4 days now and it hasn't gotten better nor worse. I don't have any other symptons besides it being a little hard to retract at times. I have never had sex either so I am not worried about it being an STD or STI but I am unsure what it could be I am also uncircumcised and 18. I had just come off Hydrozole and Augmentin Duo Forte for Balanitis a couple weeks back could this be it possibly re appearing? Should I try Hydrozole again or maybe just a single agent anti fungal cream to see if it heals? I have also attached an image of where all the redness is.
Regards,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
No self medication.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, let me advise you, not to try self medication.
You get it examined closely, by an Urologist or a dermatologist.
It looks like Balanitis on the photograph.
Don't try anti-fungal or Hydrozole.
Maintain good penile hygiene and avoid moisture.
Wish you well.

I already tried the Hydrozole last night since it took a while to get an answer back. It seemed to reduce the redness quite a lot, in saying that should I still continue or just stop it since I already started?

Brief Answer:
Empirical treatments not advisable.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Hydrozole is an anti-fungal in combination with steroid drug.
To be safe, it's best to get your doctors' advice, after an examination.
The main reason being, you may have a recurrence, after a temporary remission.
Wish you well.

Ok so should I stop using it for now until I see the doctor again or maybe just use anti fungal cream like the one in the image I have attached? I am just worried that now that I have started and the symptoms have gone down they may get worse if I stop.
I am mainly asking just because I can't get an appointment for a suitable time until another couple of days.
