Question : My 8 year old son that weighs 120 pounds took 1/2 a pill of xanax by mistake. He was supposed to take another pill and took that one instead. He's very over tired and not easily awakened. What should I do?
Brief Answer:
Nothing will happen, he will sleep it out
Detailed Answer:
Hi....Half tablet of alprazolam for 120 Pounds kid does not harm. At the most he will be excessively sleepy for another 24 hours. I suggest that you let him sleep well and after that he will wake up refreshed.
But I will suggest you the side effects with you need to be on the lookout for. if any of these things develop please take him to the nearest Emergency Room.
Side effects - swaying from one side to another, cognitive dysfunction, constipation, difficulty in urination, drowsiness, memory impairment, skin rash, blurred vision, diarrhea, muscle twitching.
