Question: Hello , I usually had a blood pressure of 160-95 maybe 180/100 . I take Candesartan 8mg for 3 months now and my blood pressure has come down to 135/90 . On the other hand I take ambian/zopiclon for 2 years now . I sleep well and feel good with it except a skin rash . May some of am 2 medications cause now a nervous heart , or in addition (unfortunately)I take Levofloxacin for 1 week due to a bronchitis which I have in last few months .Since I take Levofloxacin I have heart rythm problems systolic (< 1 week now ) , have a heart pain/pressure . Shall I stop all medication ?

Brief Answer:
For how long have you had the heart problems?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these difficulties that you have reported taking your medications as prescribed.

If these abnormal heart signs and symptoms started after starting levofloxacin, then this is the most likely cause and stopping the medication would be a better thing to do. Besides, there are several other antibiotics that can be used to treat bronchitis without necessarily running the risk of having all these side effects.

In all, if these symptoms coincided with the start of levofloxacin, talk to your doctor and consider stopping this medication.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Dear Doctor ,

thnks, now ..I will stop my antibiotics in 2 days from now ,so what is your opinion about candesartan together with ambian , I think that there is some cross-side-effect as both lower heart muscle activity etc , any experience in your daily experience ?

Brief Answer:
These two drugs are safe together!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for following up with me.

These drugs are safe to be taken together. they would not cause any combined negative consequences on the heart muscle. Feel free to continue both safely.

As the antibiotics would be stopped in two days, I would recommend you hang on and get it finished.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to keep the discussion going on if need be. Keep me updated as well.
