He also had taken a Dilaudid tablet 4 mg at 10.15am.
later during the afternoon he became very unwell, unsteady on legs, unable to get himself up and off the bed, I had to walk behind him when walking to steady him, temp ? 37.1 BP about 113 over ? I called in house Doctor who checked him, BP was lower but passsble. Next day my husband tells me he was really frightened ! could this mix of medication cause a problem.
Dilaudid seems to have caused it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to HCM, I am DR Ahmad i have read your question in detail and will be replying to it as comprehensively as possible.
First of all there is no interaction between amoxil and dialudid so there is no reason to get scared of any possible interaction.
But here I would like to mention that dialudid alone can cause apprehension and fall in BP and similar symptoms as your husband had. I suspect it was dilaudid which caused the symptoms not any interaction.
Dilaudud may not cause any issues usually but on a given day there may be such episode ..I would suggest you not to be scared..he can use the combination if his pain is fine with half the dose of dialudid he can use half the dose hopefully things will stay fine..
I hope this answered you questions.
I will be happy to answer if there are any further question.
Regards.
