Question : I have a burning sensation on the outside of my left thigh. My skin and leg are numb to the the touch. It comes and goes

The symptoms which you are mentioned are suggestive of Meralgia paresthetica.I would suggest you to get a 'Nerve conduction studies' of lower limbs.
Further, weight loss is advised in obese individuals.Also, tight fitting cloths should be avoided.
Meanwhile, a pregabalin and methylcobalamin combination may be started.
