Brief Answer:
If possible to continue breastfeeding, please return to breastfeeding!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulties you have getting your child on formula milk. Breast milk is the best available food out there for children. Though medicine has greatly advanced and there has been great improvement in baby formulas, none comes close to the standards of breast milk. If you can do this for the good of your baby, now and in future, I strongly recommend this. Actually, exclusive breastfeeding is the way to go for up to 6months.

If you cannot do so for any reasons, then you would have to make sure that the formula is well prepared(right amount of water and right quantity of milk as instructed) under strict hygienic conditions condition free from any contamination. Also, disinfecting the feeding bottles is paramount as germs tend to take refuge in them and cause diarrhea.

In all, the formula is not the concern. How you prepare it and the degree of hygiene should be looked into. If you are not familiar handling formulas, I ill suggest you ask your pediatrician on how to prepare it. Generally, 3scoops of formula go into 90cc of water. HYGIENE is a must when it comes to bottle-feeding infants.

For the anal rash, cleanse often with antiseptic wipes. Keep dry and airy and change any wet diapers as soon as the baby poops or pees.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
