What Causes Itchy Red Rashes On Feet When Diagnosed With Peripheral Neuropathy?

Question: My feet (outer side) have a rash and are hot, red, and very itchy-but only at night. I've been to a chiropodist, but she doesn't know what it is. I do have peripheral neuropathy, but do not have diabetics. This keeps me awake at night. Can you help?

Brief Answer:
Gabapentin will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,

I understand your concern.

Your symptoms are directly related to the peripheral neuropathy.

Diabetes may or may not contribute.

These changes in your feet reflect autonomic dysfunction.

I advise you to go for tab Gabapentin 900 mg/d PO initially for 2 weeks.

This should be supported by Inj ViT B12 1500 mcg one inj every alternative day for 2 weeks.

These drugs should be taken under strict medical supervision.

This should improve your symptoms.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
