Yes, the average loss of taste is 3%. However, in a 6600 person UK study the loss of taste is clearly associated with age, the study showing a 43% loss in individuals over the age of 60. That is my concern. Moreover, it appears to be either temporary or permanent based on the duration of treatment. My doctor is recommending only a two week treatment so that gives me some comfort. But, I'm still concerned.
Brief Answer:
Risk is very minimal with 2 week course.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

Okay Sir,I do accept that higher age(above 65)is associated with elevated risk.
But this effect is absolutely temporary.
And a 2 week duration will hardly have any such effects.
So you can prefer taking it without any major concern.
