What Causes Round, Raises Spots On The Forehead Of A Child Indicate?

Posted on Tue, 2 Feb 2016
Question: Hi- My 6 yr old niece suddenly had these "spots" on her forehead and some on her arm. Same color as her skin, round and raised. She was eating shrimp, so we thought it was allergic reaction. Gave her Benedryl--seemed to help. Several days later, ate shrimp again--no spots. What could these be?

Brief Answer:
Spots

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
As you've demonstrated yourself, it's very unlikely that the shrimp was the cause of the original rash. It's possible that she could have come in contact with something that disagreed with her. Perhaps she used a new soap on her face that could have caused this.
However, any rash that disappears on its own, is considered to be harmless. I would not be cincerned about the rash unless it repeatedly reappeared.
