                                            Question : Loosing my mind -- had unprotected sex with a prostitute 8 dats ago.  Have flu like symptoms.  Sore throat, upset stomach, aches. Took tests yesterday but worried too soon (all std and hiv rna) even if neg, which will be 5 days at least anyway.  Loosing my mind!!!

The chances of transmission of HIV by unprotected intercourse with a HIV positive person is 1/200 to 1/1000 .It is low. She may be negative too.You can get her tested if possible .
HIV RNA PCR after s a sensitive test after 4 days exposure. But it is more sensitive after 10 days.You can go for HIV 1&2 RNA PCR after 10 days .
