Question: Hi,

I mist start with mentioning my case a bitbin detail. I was a smoker for the past 15 years or so and would smoke about 1/2 a pack per day. This was until XXXXXXX of this year when I worke up one day and statted to feel what felt like a bit of a panic attack / tension. I wanted to quit in any case. So began my journey of quitting cigarettes.

For the first few days i was miserable and then, a week later even worse. Often having jitters, trouble focussing and bot feelig myself. I consulted a GP who, for several months put me on meds like serta and even an antidepressant. But after a few months, i could not continue these meds as they were making me lathargic. Soninquit these meds and moved on with life.

This was back in April and i was feeling oretty goot about quitting.

Forward to May and i syarted to get bouts of dizzyness and vertigo (atlest we think its that - a deeling i can only describe as a boncy floorar times or feeling as if i will lose my balance which is axtually very steady).

So i consulted another doc who then put me on vertin and vitamin D. Bith seemed to be doing bot much.

A few months later this doc also put me on repace 25 as i was suffering from some stewss / bp issues (sort of).

About 10 days ago i was just about fed up of all the meds so i decided to reboot everything and stopped all the meds.

I feel good overall, positive even, with a thirst and hunger to do everythinn and anythibg. But at times the weird bouncy / shaky feelings hold me back.

The clear things ive established are as follows:

1. What i get is a bouncy, mild imbalance thing not spining.

2. I have tinnitus innthe right ear (mild).

3. Ive had these "off" feeligs since the past 9 months ever since i quit smoking.

4. I get a stange mild vibration like feeling at the back of my neck on and off - which has reduced over time.

5. Ive had blood tests for cholesteol, vitamins, hearingg tests, blood profiling, major desease tests such as hiv etc. - but all turn up ok.

Could younolease advise sonas to what might be causing my issues.

Brief Answer:
These should not be the withdrawl symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

I have gone through your detailed medical history. One thing what I am sure is that these symptoms are not the withdrawl symptoms anymore.Even for the heaviest smokers, withdrawl symptoms do not last for more than 4-5 months.

These issues are likely to be of psychogenic in nature. As you already had been on many psychiatric medicines,I would not again recommend you to start these medicines over and again.Rather,I suggest you to deal with these issues with natural methods of treating psychogenic problems, which are mental relaxation exercises like regular meditation or yoga.
So,I suggest you to start doing regular meditation/yoga and observe for the response.I hope to see you improving soon.
However,a psychiatrist's opinion may be of value.

If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
