2 Year Old Child, Spots Across Stomach, Neck, Hip, Chesty Cough. Previous Chicken Pox. Allergy?

Hi, this morning my 2 year old woke up with a line of 4 spots across his stomach, neck and bottom. They look red like allergy spots or chicken pox - although he has had these once! He's ok in himself, playing happily. He does have a chesty cough if this is linked? is it an allergy or should I take him to my GP for something more serious?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Chicken pox is usually preceded by fever and the rash appears more in the peripheries then in the stomach or chest. It is very difficult to suggest what it may be without examining the lesions. I suggest you observe him for the next 24-48 hours and if they increase in size and numbers and cause any problem then it shall be better to show him to a doctor.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son all the best.
