3 Day Old Child, Eye Bruise, Pus, Blocked Tear Duct. Cause Of Concern?
baby is 3 days old @ birth had a bruise by the eye from labor baby is 3 days old, now bruise went down and turned from purple to red but just today it started pussing yellowish before this babies eye was swollen with the bruise but doc s said it would go away not sure if it might be a blocked tear duct cause about a month ago one of the ultrasound techs said it seemed like it on the ultrasound. Do you know what this could be? Baby is healthy, don t know if I should wait until our pediatric appointment until monday or go to a night pediatric place or to emergency room.

eye of baby had puss discharge . this may be due to inflammation of conjuctiva or secondary to stasis of the eye .
just consult to nearest ophthalomologist for examination of conjunctiva for evidence of inflammation .
if there is no inflammation this is probably due to nasolacrimal duct blockade .
if inflammation is present - this may need topical / systemic antibiotic
while for nasolacrimal duct blockage sac massage is required
