4 Yr Old Complains Of Pain While Urinating, Urine Test Show Leukocytes, Pus Cells, Blood. Why Could It Happen ?
my 4 yr old girl has recently complained of pain when urinating which is more often than usual she had a urine sample taken at the hospital and results showed leukacytes and pus when we went back for the results she did another test which again showed blood in urnie but dr said as she appeared to have a thrush infection she wouldnt send this to pathology why would a 4yr have blood in urine if it not a urine infection?

Thanks for your query.Your 4 years old daughter is complaining of pain while urinating and her routine microscopic urine examination revealed presence of pus cells and blood in Urine.This is due to UTI mostly Cystitis.This is common at this age.Please give her antibiotics and for a week after consulting your family physician Ensure that she drinks plenty of water.This will settle down in in a weeks .
