5 Month Baby, Runny Nose, Warmer Than Usual. Taking Medication. Suggestions?

Hi, My 5 month old baby girl has runny nose from past 4 days. I have been giving her Solvin Cold for 3 days twice every day 0.6 ml, but no improvement as yet. I am also giving her Otrivin whenever her nose seems blocked, but not at a frequency of less than 3 hours. Her cold seems to be aggravating only each day. She is also little warmer than usual, but her body temperature is not exceeding 99.5. Please tell me if I need to change her medicine or dosage. Her chest is not congested at the moment.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

A running nose suggests nasal congestion with or without viral infection.
Solvin and otrivin are both nasal decongestants so you can give one at a time.
Solvin alone can be given.
However, if there is associated viral infection, antipyeritic- crocin can be given half teaspoon every 3-4 hours.
Antipyeritic will reduce the temperature and control the running nose.
maintain nutrition and hydration of the baby.
If the temperaature rises, you can give cold compresses for symptomatic relief.
If the symptoms persist for long periods of time, you can consult your pediatrician.

Thanks and take care
