5 Year Old With A Lump Below The Cheek, Difficulty In Chewing And Swallowing. High Temperature. Cause?

Dear Doctor, My son is 5 years old and i have noticed a slight lump on right below his cheek. He complained of little bit pain and also his body temperature was rising. Having checked his temperature; it was 99.06 fahrenheit. Kindly guide me what to do as this lump is hard and he has somewhat problem while chewing and swallowing food.

Your may suffering from Mumps a viral contagious disease. The lump , the inflammation of the parotid gland which gives rise to swelling pain fever etc The illness willbe last five to seven days and gradually subsides. You should give plenty of oral semisolid and liquid diets, for pain and fever mild anti inflammatory drug may be given,

Hello dear
Lump below yhe neck in child two to three possible reasons ,,,,thyroglossal cyst ,lymph node and thyroid swelling
First if swelling move on swollowong its thyroid swelling or other wise thyroglossal cyst,,,
You say below cheek ,,,fever difficulty in swollowing this most probably seems to be lymp node infection or tonsils or mumps ,,,,in all these conditions symptoms are same go to ENT specialist ,,,treatment is warm fluids ,antibiotics,anti pyretics,,,,stay blessed
