6 Year Old, Having Fever. Giving Calpol, Meftal P. Any Side Effects?

Sir today my son have 102 degree fever in night. I have immediately given him calpol mg and also sponge his body. But as I stop sponge temprature again start to rise. So after one hour I have given him maftal p . He is 6 year old n his weight is 23 kg.when he have fever I used to give him meftal p. Is this right ? Is there side effects of medtal p.

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Meftal P has good safety profile in children. But it has to be given in high grade fevers.
Meftal P is to be given with food and prolonged use is not advised.
For low grade fever, calpol is sufficient.
