8 Month Old Have A Lump On The Head After A Fall. Feeling Hot. Should I Be Worried?

My 8 month old fell over and caught the back of his head on a door handle. It didn t bleed although he has cut the skin slightly. Also its a small lump. On the back at the top. He cried for a min or two but then was ok. It was a little before his bed time and has since gone to sleep. He seemed fine although his head feels really hot which concerns me!

Hi

After head injury, if there is no bleeding from ears/ nose/ around eyes, if there is no forceful vomiting, if there are no seizures/ altered consciousness, you need not worry.

The small lump must be a bruise. You may give cold compresses on the lump.

Generally due to increased vascularity, head of a kid will be more warm than the rest of the body. Its normal. Do not worry.
You may give Acetaminophen in right dosage for reduction of pain.

Hope my answer helps you.
Wish your son good health.
