8 Month Old Pre Term Baby Not Gaining Weight Due To Stomach Infections. Z&S Syrup Suggested. Side Effects? Rashes On Cheeks
My baby she is 8th month old she not growing not putting her weight due to Gut infection again she lost weight recently visited doc he said her immunity power is less as she preterm baby with 2.1 kg so he suggested to Z & Ds20 syrup 0.5ml one time day. i just want to know with this syrup is there any side effects? bcoz i see on cheeks find some red rashes both side, just want to know y rashes on cheeks?
The rash is not because of the Z&D syrup. This syrup is providing zinc supplementation.
Repeated gut infection in a 8 month old baby can be because of hygiene rather than less immunity. You need to ensure that the child has enough of nutritious food for her to put on weight. The best course would be to plot her weight on an appropriate weight graph and see it. You will notice that the weight gain must not have been adequate from 6 months onwards when a child needs to be started on weaning food.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
