Acute Stomach Cramps, Broken Stools, Severe At Night. Stool Test Negative. Possible Reason?
My daughter who s 9 years old, has returned from Bangladesh with me 3 weeks ago, with acute stomach cramps , and broken stools almost like diarrhea , she s got the pains more at night, and in the day it s berable, my local doctors have done stool testing but it s come back negative on certain bactieras, but now I m still worrying what can it be?? Please advise
From the information provided, I personally feel that she has either worms infestation or amoebic/giardia infection, contacted in Bangladesh.
A 5-days' course of metronidazole, along with deworming course (Albendazole 400mg on alternate days x 3 doses), should cure her condition.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he agrees with me and will prescribe suitable treatment as advised.
