hi there, anal fissure can cause blood to be lost in stool which will be seen on microscopic exam. You should take stool softners and sitz bath for healing of the fissure. It is good that you are getting a upper GI endoscopy done as it will help to rule out any other pathology which may be missed out if we assume the blood to be from the fissure. You need to be cautious but not unduly tensed and take care.
